This kind of question is best asked in rec.travel.airp.

The schedule I see would require an overnight:

AC 154 leaves YEG at 1735 and arriving at YYZ at 2309.
AC 986 leaves YYZ at 1010 and arriving at PLS at 1400.

It's expensive because there's an AA leg on the return.

You might try pricing two round-trips, probably on different carriers, for
a better fare.
