Most Mayan Rivera beaches are not rocky, most are quite nice. The
Akumal areaalso has some of the best snorkelling found since the
reef comes quite close to the shore in that area.

As to the resort you mention, I ahve not been there myself. I have
stayed at Club Oasis Akumal and Oasis Puerto Aventuras and both were
quite enjoyable.
