For what it's worth, Travel and Leisure magazine in 2002 rated Maui the
number one tropcal island in the world.  Maui hotels appearing on the
list of top 25 Pacific Rim Resorts were:

18. Renaissance Wailea Beach
19. Ritz-Carlton Kapalua
20. Grand Wailea
21. Kapalua Bay Hotel

These ratings come from targeted reader surveys.  The number one Pacific
Rim Resort was the Big Island's Four Seasons Hualalai.
