IMAGINE A warm gentle breeze is softly caressing your cheeks. As you chat about your days experiences and sites, and the succulent lobster thermador you savored the evening before, pondering which worldly adventure in dining you may enjoy this evening, you gaze over the ocean's expanse only feet away! Joe responds but his voice fades away as if it is in the distance, as you become entranced by the bright golden moonlight dancing off the rolling ocean. It is as if you are in a world of your own and the unfolding performance of nature is just for you. The waves roll and the moonlight dances and sparkles - like a million Pixies adorned in jewels - doing pirouettes off the waves under the guidance of some mystical hand. All accompanied by the muted musical accompaniments of the rolling waves and the rustling palm leaves above your head. All moving, rolling, swaying and dancing in unison. The tension has left your body, you feel as if you too are gently swaying as if you had become a part of nature's graceful evening, floating among the Pixies and the Palm Trees. Your attention is drawn, but not disturbed, by the approaching minstrels. They are the second act, and Joe is back now, only moments before being oblivious to you. Neither of you mind, as you are greeted by the broad, cheerful smiles of your new hosts. You can still hear the breeze, the rolling waves and see the dancing Pixies, as they too seem to respond immediately to the genuine hospitality of our new friends, as if they were old acquaintances coming together in anticipation of a common purpose; to share with pride the pleasures and happiness of their home, with you. Then Carlos poises to strum his guitar, as Miguel plugs his first notes on the giant bass that is almost as large as him, and Caesar, with his tenor voice, eases into a soulful song that you know must be a local folk song. You may not understand any of the words, but you don't care - you know from their expressions and the movement of their bodies and instruments that it is a song about love, life and happiness in this tropical paradise, that for a brief period has adopted you as if on its own. Home, as wonderful a place as it may be, is only a distant memory for now. You have been transported to a different world, farther than any airplane could ever have carried you. It is like home is on some distant world from you. Somewhere on that golden moon hovering over you, as if it were a paternal figure, your musical conductor, director, maitre de, and guardian, all to ensure their gift to you of cherished memories.
