Does your medical coverage travel with you? Many plans do not provide coverage internationally. For example, Medicare does not cover US citizens outside the country. The same is true of many HMO, PPO, and other plans. For those of you who will be traveling outside the coverage area of your regular health insurance coverage you need to consider your options. We suggest you look at the Liaison International Plan from Specialty Risk International that has coverage for all nationalities. This plan lets you choose your coverage limit (Up to $1,000,000), your coverage term (15 days to three years), and your deductible ($100 to $2500). Your premiums can be surprisingly inexpensive. For example, for a US resident traveling abroad for two weeks, age 50, $500,000 coverage with a $1,000 deductible the premium would only be $54.
