Well, I owned quite a few Pneumatic sets, and this one really takes the cake. All of the hydraulic cylinders I've noticed on real backhoes are represented on this model. I'm not sure if the control set-up is accurate, and in my experience it is best to operate only one piston at a time, it's the most elaborate Technic set I have ever built. For those of you that do not have the $100 or so to spend on the Backhoe, I also highly recommend the 8453 front-end loader. It's just a bit larger than my 1986 Town favorite 6658 but with excellent use of Technic parts for steering and raising the bucket. My only complaint is that the bucket must be dumped by hand - but this does not detract from the greatness of the set. And to think some people have said that Technic was dead! Two of my favorite Technic sets ever - or even Lego sets ever - came out this year. It appears that Technic was only sleeping. ;) "John Eric Voltin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > I would love to get the Backhoe. Apparently, you recommend that set. That's all that matters. ;)
