The best place to go for Matchbox cars these days is here: http://tinyurl.com/xi73 This is the "Everything Matchbox!" forum in the Matchbox Collectors' Community Hall. The Hall has many other fora devoted to Matchbox and other diecast brands, but this is where you're most likely to get info, opinions etc. about the latest Matchbox toys. Some of the most recent MB models are pretty sad, but there are some gems around like the Pontiac Vibe and Mini Cooper. However, most MB collectors generally agree that Matchbox has gone downhill since Mattel took it over in 1997. Anyway, the above forum has lots of interesting people posting to it, and this is definitely the place to go for more info about Matchbox. Some of the finest Matchbox experts, such as Christian Falkensteiner and even Charlie Mack himself post here. (Actually, it's been a while since I've seen a post from Charlie.) Hot Wheels have always predominated on rec.toys.cars, although other brands used to be discussed more frequently a few years ago. Even back then though, I can recall people suggesting half-jokingly that the NG should be renamed rec.toys.hotwheels! RTC probably has better all-round info on Hot Wheels (and especially the variations), but for Matchbox and pretty much any other diecast brand, the MCCH is the way to go. Best Regards ROWAN M.
