The AVP tried this a long time ago, only they played one game to 35 rally with
a return to sideout for the team once it reaches 33, you had to win the last 2
points on your serve. Most matches were very boring, with one team getting a
little bit ahead, both teams sorta *coasting* to get to 33, since they knew
once they got there the other team would stand a good chance to catch up.

Then they played the last 2 points all out.

Why don't we just do away with all this preamble and just play sideout scoring
to 2, win by 2. And let's have a mandatory minimum of 15 - 30 second timeouts
per team. Provides lots of color commentary time so the announcers can tell us
just what isn't happening at this point.

Only the match can't end if the match takes less than 40 minutes and then we
just play until one team is ahead at the end of 40 Minutes, *sudden death*.
Combines all the best of every TV format known to man, not much of a game to
play though.

Should be great for TV, lots of commercial insertion time, and highly
predictable length of match. Should fit right into that one hour time slot.

Yes, I am kidding. LOL
