Yes.

People discount the trauma Graf suffered during this process.  Had it played
out Graf woulda continued her inevitable ascendancy to top & probably won a
couple more calendar slams (woulda played with more confidence/exuberance
than she did).  As it was she played subdued & won less than she would have.
It's ironic Gunter actually helped seles' legacy - sure she mighta won 2
more slams, but now she has an excuse for underachieveing....
