I hope that Jonosuke will post Rikishi Talk, but I might as well start wondering in advance. I'll guess that the Big Guys at the Kyokai are pleased that Tochiazuma won the yusho. (Is "won the yusho" correct or redundant? ... "took yusho"? "took the yusho" "won the basho"?) I figure they want to see another yokozuna replace Musashimaru as soon as possible rather than see a current solo yokozuna (esp Asashoryu) dominate the basho. Is Tochiazuma more likely to move up than Chiyotaikai? They are both 27 years old, but Chiyo seems to have many more bouts (total) and three yusho. Who moved up the ranks when? How long have they each been ozeki? Chiyo's 10-5 doesn't seem so good. Is he on the decline, injured or did he just have a bad basho? Has Chiyo peaked? ... expected to do better next time? What will Tochiazuma have to do to become yokozuna. Win the next basho by 13-2 or better? Win several more basho? Lastly, is sports (sumo) betting legal in Japan? Is there a lot of gambling on sumo, legal or otherwise? Other than the bouts themselves, do they make book on all other kinds of crazy things like they do in the US and England, e.g., odds that Tochiazuma will or will not be yokozuna by xxx-2004? Does Japan have a gambling city like "Las Vegas"? -- Sent by xanadoof from yahoo part from com This is a spam protected message. Please answer with reference header.
