I don't think there is anything wrong with him. As a first time Sanyaku, he had to face upper ranked rikishis to start the basho. Basically he has been facing only Yokozunas and Ozekis as well as other Sanyaku rikishis up to now. He faced both Asashoryu and Musashimaru, as well as Kaio, Chiyotaikai, Tochiazuma, Musoyama and then Takamisakari and Wakanosato. Then yesterday he faced another Sekiwake Kyokutenho and beat him. So now that the heavy schedule of basho is over for him, he should start winning as he only has to face Hiramaku rikishis the rest of basho. Of course if he got totally lost the track after losing so many then I am not sure if he can recover but I am sure he will be OK. He got a lucky break getting a win against Musashimaru so he still has a very slim chance of getting a kachikoshi this basho. Just like anything else, you can only get stronger by competing against stronger opponents. The first time around Sanyaku, all rikishis will will have a losing record and that is to be expected.
