A few years ago a youth baseball >league adopted the face mask policy. After several cervical spine >injuries the league enacted a emergency NO head first slide rule. > I was not in all the committee meetings, but to the best of my knowledge, it was not addressed. OTOH, a proper head-first slide is with the head up, not buried so it really shouldn't be an issue. Even if it were, what is the difference between a face mask catching the dirt and the brim of the helmet doing the same? It is not like they are introducing something new to the game. Face masks have been around for a few years now, just not mandated. I don't believe it is an issue. Mike
