Did it ever occur to you that the umpires DON'T make or change the rules?

Did it ever occur to you that it is played in 164 countries one way and in the
US another?  

But I can see your reasoning.  Since pitchers like to leap, we make it legal. 
Runners like to leave early, so we make it legal.  Pitcher like the low
strikes, so we change the strike zone.  People are afraid of kids hurting
themselves when sliding, so you outlaw sliding and make every play a force out.

Sorry, but I just don't buy into your train of thought.
