Only that it didn't come sooner.  Remembering that the rules of softball are
for ALL that play the game, not just the elite few in 18-under Gold or serious
versions of men's fast&slow-pitch national events, this rule attempts to better
define how the game can be played more safely by the most of its participants.

Major League Baseball has taken strides to eliminate opportunities that could
lead to injury in plays involving potential runner/fielder collisions.  I
commend ASA for this recent ruling  and hopefully, its administration is
uniform and allows the game to be played aggressively, but with expectations of
less injury in these situations.
