Subject : Two playersFrom : Mark V. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
I'm surprised that someone who seems to be as shrewd a soccer analyst as you are would choose Van Nistelrooij. I'm not necessarily arguing with you, and also agree that RVN is one of, if not the best, at what he does. I just would have imagined that you would have chosen players who are almost perpetually involved in their club's attack, and not someone who is dependent upon good service and who can play a match or two straight and not be heard from (through no fault of his own).
My reasoning is this. Henry is a better all round player then RVN, he creates and scores in equal measure BUT he continually disappoints in big matches. His performance against Inter was the exception to the rule, at least as Europe is concerned. RVN on the other hand has a phenomenal record in the champions league and as that's the highest level I can't think of anyone better to lead an attack. He's also made 10 assists over the past two seasons in that competition which is a very good total for an out and out striker.
