I think the problem is many people (the original poster obviously
being one of them) did not watch the draw. I have to confess that
neither did I, having been otherwise engaged. However, much like the
original poster, I was also of the belief that the "position" of a
team in terms of the draw was in direct correlation to the team's
seeding. So in my mind and that of many others, Latvia should have
been position 4, Netherlands position 3, England position 2...

The result was people coming home after the draw was made seeing they
had tickets for D2 - D3 and automatically assuming that match would be
Germany - Netherlands (based on the team's seedings). In truth because
of the random drawing of the team's "positions" that matched turned
out to be Latvia - Czech Republic......which after Latvia's recent
giant killing exploits will no doubt be an intruging game, but hardly
of the same excitement level as Germany - Netherlands.

So I can see why people are upset. I agree with the original poster in
that tickets should only go on sale after everyone knows which teams
will be playing which and where. There should be none of this "buy a
ticket for C2-C3 and pray to God it doesn't come out as Azerbaijan -
Malta" nonsense.

Lucky you. Just spare a thought for the England fans who thought they
had tickets to England - Croatia only to be told their tickets were
actually for Switzerland - France....

Keep an eye on e-bay, there are already numerous adverts there from
people interested in exchanging tickets for games they do not want to
see.
