Re: Serie A Tactis

Capello, like Ancelotti, was a strict 4-4-2 man but has switched to 3-4-3. Roma
play with two out and out playmakers in Cassano and Totti. A luxury Capello can
afford with an virtually impenetrable defence of Chivu and Samuel and the
considerable muscle of Emerson and the much improved Dacourt in midfield.
Capello's philosophy has changed completely. His team play a spectacular, highly
technical brand of football not seen in Serie A (or Europe) since his great
Milan side of the 1991-1992 season.

I thought Capello was an idiot with no idea of tactics who was going to ruin Roma within a few years ?

I'd be interested to know what exactly it was he was doing a few years ago to arouse such ire, and what his "road to Damascus" has been that has apparently changed him so radically.
