I've watched tons of games, including many games involving the Italian national team and Italian clubs, dating back to the early 80s. I didn't happen to see that Euro 2000 game between Italy and Holland. My apologies. On the whole though, most Italian teams I have seen have played a very defensive style, which IMHO just isn't very exciting. Obviously there are games with no scoring but lots of drama but there too I just haven't witnessed too much from Italian squads (be they national or club-level...although there are exceptions at the club level, I will admit...early 90s AC Milan teams come to mind for example). To just give you one example: the 1994 world cup final was BOOOOORING even though it went to extra time and then penalty kicks. > Presumably if you consider their style boring, you haven't watched or care > to watch many of their games recent or otherwise, which makes your opinion > one that is hard to take accurately. Nice try. Do whatever you want. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. But until Italian teams start changing their styles. And I don't see that happening anytime soon.
