Football First In Europe Summary 1 December 2003

A summary of Talksport's Football First In Europe show, broadcast every
Monday between 7-10pm.

Suggestions by host Adrian Durham and the Dutch journalist (Marcel van
der Kran sp?), that the Euro 2004 draw was 'contrived'.

Desailly admits France wanted to avoid Italy and France, similarly the
Germans are the last team the Dutch wanted to face. War of words between
both sides has started, a friendly between the two teams has been
cancelled.

The Dutch journalist is buoyant over his nations countries chances.
Says RVN has 'completely won the battle over Kluivert', says if RVN has
a great tournament will be crowned, will be considered at the same level
as Marco Van Basten, which drew a gasp in the studio from Durham 'ooooo,
that's a big, big call, we shall have to wait and see on that one'.

Claims that van der Vaart's goal against Feyenoord was the goal of the
season. Thought it was fluke myself.

German pundit and Bayern fan says Kluivert is a diva and cost the
national team many games. A view, I of course, support 100%.

News that Bladder has threatened Tevez with a one year ban after he has
taken the Argentinean FA to court over their insistence that he plays in
the World Youth Cup. Tevez wants to play in the IC final against Milan.

Rumours that Milan may use the final to approach Boca over signing
Tevez. Bayern claim Boca's asking price (e20 million) is too much.
Milan won't pay that either.

World Soccer's Serie A correspondent Paddy Agnew suggests that Inter may
play better without Vieri.

Milan once again linked with van der Vaart. The Spanish press seem to
have overestimated the supposed importance of the fact that Rafael's
father is from Catalonia. As the German pundit said "When it comes to
Milan you forget who your father is".

Despite the presence of scouts from top European clubs Kuranyi is still
considering staying at Stuttgart meanwhile interest in team-mate Hleb
has waned.

Real Madrid linked with summer moves for either Henry or Owen.
Florentino Perez says their next big star will come from England.

Rivaldo has been contacted by Spurs and Boro.

Hargreaves linked to Newcastle. Why, aren't two slow midfielders enough?
(Speed and Viana).

Pundits laugh off rumours linking Ballack with a move to Arsenal in
exchange for £10 million and Wiltord. Houness on Chelsea's interest in
Ballack "Roman Abramovic will not find enough oil wells in Russia to buy
Ballack"

Chelsea to become the 19th members of the G14.
