I love the line: "There is no suggestion he knew they were tarts." http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2003551821,00.html By MIKE SULLIVAN Crime Editor FALLEN soccer idol George Best was robbed of £2,000 by two hookers he picked up and took to a hotel bedroom. Best called cops after realising the cash had been pinched from his jacket. The former Manchester United hero had stripped and got into bed with one of them. The other girl is then said to have suggested buying a camera to take kinky photos. Best told her to take money from his jacket to get a camera. Minutes later he realised ALL his cash had gone - along with the girl. He ranted at staff to summon cops immediately. An insider said: "He was crying and yelling and shouting. "He demanded that the police be called. That was either a very brave thing to do or a very foolish thing." When cops arrived alcoholic Best, 57, was sitting in the hotel foyer wearing only socks and a bathrobe. He had gone out in London late on Wednesday and picked up the two women in Tramp nightclub. There is no suggestion he knew they were tarts. The trio went to the three-star Paragon Hotel in Fulham, West London, where Best booked a room. Only 24 hours earlier he had been booted out of his home by long-suffering wife Alex, 31. Fulham CID confirmed they were investigating the incident. A spokesman said: "Police were called to the Paragon at 5.57am on November 27. A man alleged £2,000 had been stolen from his jacket." Officers were still trying to trace the girls last night. Best fell victim to a scam called clipping. Most clippers are prostitutes who lure punters to hotel rooms and then rob them. It is anticipated that the former Northern Ireland international will go to Fulham police station to view photographs of known clippers. A source said: "Bestie has been a very silly old man. He admits he met the girls at a club and went back to the hotel with them." The hotel insider said: "He was even going on about calling his wife to come and get him. He was in a terrible state." Alex has endured months of Best's drunkenness and womanising since he got a new lease of life after an NHS liver transplant. The 13-storey Paragon charges up to £250 a night and is one of West London's largest hotels. ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! >100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =---
