I forgot to answer the question I am asked most frequently:  How much
does it pay to be an About.com guide?  That is not an easy question to
answer, because your pay at About.com depends on the success of your
site, but here is what they say on their recruiting page:

FROM ABOUT.COM: "Guides get paid a minimum of $500 for their first
full-month on the network and continue to earn at least $500 as long
as they increase page views each month."
