I skate with a fairly thin silk-blend sock liner. The one part of the sock that is thicker than the rest is the seam across the top of the toe area. Because my boots are snug, that seam chafes and cuts into my foot. I finally realized that I could wear the socks inside out, and, in so doing, buffer the effects of the toe seam. Doh! I had to get beyond my concept of which side of a sock belongs on the outside. Pragmatism triumphs over aesthetics! - David
