Hi there, While I was living in Germany I wanted to have speedometer for my inline skates too and I did some research and found a gadget for the same. It is made by a company called Microsport. Ever since I found this product, I was dying to recommend it to someone. I didn't want to post a message advertising it for the fear that people might feel it is just an ad. I'm in no way affiliated/associated to them, other than being their customer. You can find more info at http://www.microsport.de I bought it two years ago and it works great. I haven't measured the accuracy etc., but it is good enough for me. Even though they are mainly located in Germany they have an office (probably home office) in Boston and they sure can ship it to US addresses. I bought couple of spare parts (after I lost the watch) and they shipped it to my US mailing address, no problem. It basically has an electronic puck that fits in a special wheel. This puck has the electronics that measures the rotation etc. and transmits the signals to the wrist watch device which actually calculates/displays speed, distance, calories burnt etc. I'm pretty happy with this device. Besides I really like their service too, very courteous, prompt etc. I tend to pay extra buck for good service. Of course, the handheld GPS solution is pretty good too. Hope this helps. P In article <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] says... > Besides the timed average around a measured course, or a buddy on a bike > with an expensive speedo, how do you know how fast is fast? I haven't seen > whiz-bang Doppler gizmos at the skate shops... >
