Not to belabor this, but this is the same buckle as on the 2001 Mod 8, 2002 Mod GT, and 2002 Mod GX, yes/no? I think I would just have a ski shop rivet a beefy snowboard boot buckle+strap on there, and fret no more. (Then mount the old buckle-strap setups to your headboard, to get a chuckle from the wife/GF--LOL!)
