If you bought the 2003 model of the K2 LT then you have the 688 micro bearings. The older years models had the 698 bearings. The 688 bearings are excellent bearings and there is no reason why they need to be changed. PS; I think you will be keeping the Xcelerators as most stores will not provide a refund once you've used the skates on the road.
