Is everybody really this dense ? Amplitude in sports refers to
"exceeding the norm" in an element.

In the sense of size or fullness. If someone performed a quad axle, "amplitude" would not be applied to their rotational ability.


However, I'd give both of you a +3
for TOTALLY missing the point. Every element in all 3 sports
can be judged for AMPLITUDE in the element.

1. Not rotation, as demonstrated above. Or edging, for that matter. 2. "SPEED is AMPLITUDE" does not parse to mean what you just said.

Nicole Bobek has tremendous AMPLITUDE in all of her dance
elements ... which should have easily offset her difficiencies
in the jumps.

Given the enormity of her jumping deficiencies, not so easily.
