Perhaps your mother has never been involved in such intense high level
competition or in working so hard at such a difficulty sport.    If she had,
she might understand how it is possible to say -- with TRUTH -- that it's fun,
even if occasionally (and sometimes more than occasionally, depending on the
person), it is disappointing, stressful, etc.
