As best as I can make out, here is who they are and where they might play. (Web-available team lists appear to be out of date, with McGoldrick listed but lately reported to be returning to RL with Cronulla) 1 - Matt Dunning, Patricio Noriega, Gareth Hardy 2 - Brendan Cannon, Huia Edmonds, Adam Freier 3 - Alastair Baxter, Aaron Broughton-Rouse, Patricio Noriega 4-5 - Justin Harrison, Daniel Vickerman, Al Campbell, Jono West 6 - Rocky Elsom, Simon Kasprowicz, Omar Hassanein 7 - Phil Waugh, Matt Hodgson, Lei Tomiki 8 - David Lyons, Omar Hassanein, Jono West 9 - Chris Whitaker, Tim Clark, Paul Sheedy, Elia Tuqiri 10 - Shaun Berne, Lachlan Mackay, Milton Thaiday 12 - Nathan Grey, Shaun Berne, Lachlan Mackay, Morgan Turinui 13 - Matthew Burke, Mat Rogers, Morgan Turinui, Lote Tuqiri 11-14 - Lote Tuqiri, Scott Staniforth, Milton Thaiday, Cameron Shepherd, Elia Tuqiri 15 - Mat Rogers, Matthew Burke, Milton Thaiday, Cameron Shepherd Coach: Ewen McKenzie 5 of last year's Aus U/21 side are there: Elsom, Tomiki, Tuqiri.E, McKay & Shepherd. They get off to a testing start -- Auckland in the Southern Cross Cup in Sydney followed by Canterbury in the S12 in Christchurch. Bye to Bob Dwyer & hello to Ewen McKenzie. Plenty of highs and lows under the old bloke over the past couple of years -- here's hoping McKenzie can instil some consistency. The forwards look to be the major improvement with Harrison & Vickerman added, an extra year's experience for the likes of Dunning, Baxter, West, Waugh, Elsom & Lyons, and the introduction of Hodgson & Tomiki. Barring a bad injury run, some extremely good backs won't be making the run-on 15, or even the 22 (only to be expected when Aus has only 3 S12 sides). With McRae back in the ZP, No.10 is the quandary. Berne has the most experience, McKay captained the U/21s last year, Grey played there with credit against England, but Thaiday could be the one. It'll also be interesting to see where Lote Tuqiri gets to play -- Dwyer had him pegged as a future champion 13, but with all the other centre talent in the squad ...
