Women tend to be more flexible, so they tend to get the body set quicker and
easier, making the slidework relatively relaxed.
Flexibility also helps the catch position to be nice and compressed (unless
big hooters get in the way!).

if you get a chance to double scull with a woman, do it, let them stroke the
boat if they're prepared to do so, and learn what a graceful sport this is.

if you're married to the aforementioned woman though..... take it from
me..... forget it!
