I have to disagree on that comment regarding a double feeling like a single.
Now I'm still not great in a single (I'm learning though), but I did spend a
few years racing a reasonably quick double, and there is simply no
comparison. I'm not just talking in terms of speed, but indeed the very way
you row the two boats is completely different.

In fact, I would say that when your timing in the double is out, it feels a
lot more like a single.
