Imagine the ridicule had they cancelled on Friday - and then Saturday turned out to be a beautiful calm sunny day. Weather forecasts are not infallible, and if you think they are, then you have the option of not travelling down for the race on the Saturday morning. or put in place the option of shortening the race > (say Chiswick to ARA) perhaps a much better option, though I'm sure they have their reasons.
