Also remember to frisk crew for mobiles before getting on the water.  

There we were sitting at the start of the Inverness 4s head, I was
coxing my novice women, when our English stroke's mobile, which turns
out to be in her pocket, rings.  "Oh, that's my dad with the rugby
score," she says, "Is it okay if I get it?"

Needless to say she had to wait until she'd done the 5km race before I
let her get the semi-final results...
