Why? Ford is Indy. The movie is meant to be about a near-retirement Indiana
Jones. Harrison Ford is not only the right age to play that character, but
he sort of looks like him too....

Seriously. I don't understand your statement. The exact opposite is true. If
they tried to pass somebody else off as Indy, it would suck. Young actors
might have worked as young Indiana Jones on the small screen (and it still
wasn't the same), but when it comes to adult Indy on the big screen, there
are no other options.
