Jimmy Kimmel

Can someone please explain to me what the appeal of this guy is and why 
ABC renewed his horrible show? I've seen a few episodes of the show the 
week Mick Foley was co-hosting, and I saw him as host of the American 
Music Awards - and he's just terrible. He has no charisma, his jokes are 
dumb, and he couldn't conduct an interview to save his life. I saw one 
article suggesting that ABC thought his show needed time to develop like 
Conan O'Brien's did, but I don't remember even the very early Conan shows 
being as consistently bad as Kimmel's.
