I wanna chuckle... Well, I can see your point in a way. I very rarely purchase DVDs at all, much less those that are single movies. I've also been hawking a good portion of my VHS collection on Amazon in the last year, because I never wtch the ones I have. But in some cases, I feel a DVD purchase is justified. For instance, I'm a huge Transformers fan. I collect the toys and other paraphenalia. I'm not obsessive about it, but I can honestly look at my collection and say that I don't regret dropping a single dime into it. When they started releasing box sets of the original TV series, I started buying them. At this point, I've watched each set once since I purchased the first one a year and a half ago. But I know they'll be watched again, and the most important part of it is that they're part of my collection. I display them along with my toy collection. To me, it's completely justifiable for me to drop what I do on them (and they all retail at 50-60 bucks, but I've yet to pay more than 35 shipped for any of them, thanks to dvdpricesearch and amazon's used listings.) Same thing with Star Wars. I've got every VHS release of the films, some unopened. I'm sure I'll buy it on DVD, even if Lucas does the assy thing and only releases the special editions. If I do decide to watch one of the movies, I'll pop in a copy taped off of HBO many years ago. But it's that whole "collectors'" aspect. My girlfriend is huge into KISS. She's got every video they've ever released, and again, displays them with the rest of her stuff. I mean, we all work to buy shit we like, and if we like owning the occasional DVD, I can understand it. I don't see the point of owning hundreds of DVDs, but I have friends that do. But those people tend to be entertained by just sitting there watching those DVDs all day. I'm just don't have that sort of attention span. -DejaFroggy
