Excuse me, Krusty, would you please repair my hamster? It's allready 25 Nov 2003, and I have an important engagement in rec.sport.pro-wrestling: > What's the deal with "buying" dvds? I'll toss my monkey into the court and see how far it's poop flies. Checking out my DVD shelf, I don't own many. I see the Lord of the Rings extended sets, I see a few Jackie Chan movies, I see Red Dwarf season 1 and 2, and the Black Adder complete collector's set. Oh yeah, and Kung Pow. Why did I buy them? Well, the LotR sets just have TOO MUCH stuff for me to rent them and watch it all. And they actually are movies that I enjoy watching when I have a free weekend. As to the Jackie Chan movies... I think it's because when I get into a relaly big "watch Jackie Chan" mood, I am in no state to legally drive anywhere. Red Dwarf season 1 and 2 is because they are some of my favorite TV, and again there is a ton of extras that I simply wouldn't get to on a rental. Black Adder, the complete set of everything ever, I own because, like Red Dwarf, Black Adder is simply a huge pool of marking for me. I think I've watched each of the 5 DVD's 10 or 15 times since I bought it. Wonderful stuff. And Kung Pow. Why? Because everyone I talk to thinks it sucks. Well, that is they IMAGINE it sucks, because they only saw the previews and then formed an opinion about the whole movie based on that. So I tie them to a chair and force them to watch the whole movie. By the end of it they are either driven insane, or they love the movie. Oh yeah, and other than that I have some wrestling DVD's. Hulk Still Rules is probably the only one of them still in rotation, though. GC thinks a lot of Krusty's arguments thus far could also be attributed to video games... and I ain't stopping that either. -- *********** GENERAL CALZONE of the UA The One and Only THANK HOGAN!! *********** UA 4-LYFE http://home.maine.rr.com/cgm RSPWECW Heavyweight Champion of the World 2003 RSPW Funniest Poster of the Year
