http://www.wwe.com/news/commentary/bradshaw/1246028 On finance, politics & wrestling by Bradshaw Nov. 12, 2003 Disclaimer: These views are those of John Layfield, aka Bradshaw, and not necessarily those of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. My best wishes are extended to Crash Holly's friends and family. Crash was a pleasure to work with and had a really good thing going with Hardcore Holly at one time. It is sad when someone so young passes away. Also, I would like to express my condolences to the friends and family of Road Warrior Hawk. Hawk was a good friend of mine. We shared more than one adult cocktail together. Hawk and Animal were probably the most famous tag team of all time. Faarooq and I had the pleasure of being in the ring with them several times. I would like to address Dr. Tom's references to me in his last column, but I may wait until a later date. I will say I am still a Texan that is just displaced in New York City right now. Believe me, in time I will answer all allegations that have been levied against me. I was on Neil Cavuto's show this past weekend. Neil is one of the smartest guys on TV; he for sure is one of the nicest. We got to talk about Howard Dean. Talk about a stupid man. Dean was the one who said he wanted to appeal to the Southern white people who fly Confederate flags in the back of their pickup trucks. Al Sharpton actually tried to defend the Southern whites by saying that not all of them had Confederate flags. Dean would not apologize. Moron. I guess in Dean's mind if you are poor and white, you are prejudice. I thought Al Gore saying he invented the Internet was a bad decision. The economy is coming back and Iraq should be straightened out by next year. George W. should win his second term easily. This will be good for stocks, especially pharmaceuticals. We also talked on the show along with Gregg Hymowitz and Meredith Whitney (who I would book on the show just because she is a babe, of course, she is smart too, but nonetheless I would book her if she weren't), about mutual fund scandals. Basically, mutual funds such as Putnam are guilty of market timing in an illegal way. Mutual funds close at the market close, and whatever they close at is considered their net asset value (NAV). This is the only time the mutual fund price changes, unlike stocks that can change with every trade. Mutual funds trade all day at the same price, and then are updated after the market's close. What some of these funds have been doing is allowing people to buy shares at the price before the close, basically yesterday's price today. Then they trade them the next morning, which is an advantage no one has because it is illegal. Though this is illegal and is being taken care of, it is not something the average investor has to worry about. Mutual funds are still the best investment vehicle for most average investors. I am on "FOX & Friends" this Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET. Also, I am on "Bulls & Bears" this Saturday at 10 a.m. ET. Both air on FOX News Channel. Don't forget to pick up a copy of my book "Have More Money Now" and read it during commercials. Very interesting Survivor Series shaping up for this Sunday in Dallas. I am looking forward to wrestling the biggest team in Survivor Series history. They say you can't coach big, but neither can you coach experience; we are going to kick their ass. If you guys out there that think I don't sell normally, wait until you see me in my home. They better bring it. I can't wait to go home. I love wrestling in Texas. I started there in the Sportatorium with World Class and the Von Erichs. What a great time it was then; it is even better now. I even lost a loser leaves town for six months match to the Fabulous Freebirds. Thank goodness I had just signed a contract to go to Europe for six months to wrestle for Otto Wantz and Peter William. I plan on having numerous drinks Saturday night with my old college roommates in Big D and then with some more friends in Houston on Tuesday before I go to Mexico to go fishing. I plan to catch a hangover. By the way, what in the hell is OU mad at? The Sooners are not just beating teams, they are annihilating them. I would like to say I predicted this, but the only prediction I made this year was that Quincy Carter was not the quarterback Dallas wanted. He has played fantastic. I am very happy to be wrong about that. Now you know why I wrestle instead of coach.
