[WWW] NWA TNA 11.7.03 Jeremy Borash column

http://www.nwatna.com/columns/inside/2003/11/07/inside.shtml

11.07.03 | "From The Inside" with Jeremy Borash

Its been a very busy couple of weeks. Its been a surreal couple of
weeks as well.

My apologies for taking last week off... This column got pimpslapped
to the curb by some last minute things that were a bit higher on the
priority scale.
TNA has upgraded my video editing facility to all Mac, so I've been
having to learn a whole new system to work on. It is like dropping the
English Language and taking up Spanish on the premise that Spanish is
a more sensibly constructed dialect. I'm enjoying it though. You will
see some vast improvements on the visual look of the show very soon.

The main event was red hot, as the building was louder than ever for
the Jarrett/Sting contest from this past Wednesday night.

The Lex Luger announcement certainly seemed to catch quite a few
people off guard. Anyone who suggests that we are bringing him in for
any other reason than to compete in this tag team match is simply
incorrect. His name had been kicked around long before the unfortunate
events of this year had taken place. The deal was done just minutes
before going live on Wednesday night. People obviously want to see
him, as our advance ticket sales have dramatically increased going
into this event.

Nikita Koloff held a prayer meeting with several of the wrestlers
before the show Wednesday night backstage. I'm all for that. Nikita is
a fantastic, charismatic speaker and a wonderful human being. I've
really enjoyed getting to know him over the years. A Lifetime
documentary crew has been following him around for the past several
weeks.

TNA is proud to announce that starting in January, TNA will be
offering our PPV's as a monthly package deal for the suggested retail
price of 34.95. This is a bargain on a few levels. Obviously you will
be saving money by buying it monthly, but this will be an especially
good deal for months where there are five Wednesdays, with March 2004
being the first.

Most of the cable systems are expected to get on board with this new
pricing option. So starting January... you will get four to five weeks
of TNA (roughly eight to ten hours of live PPV wrestling) for the same
price as one WWE PPV. That is a no brainer.

You will likely be seeing more of Sting in the weeks to come in TNA.

The very graphic footage of James Mitchell on Xplosions very popular
"TNA CAM" feature after his match with Raven was too bloody to air on
this weekends Xplosion episode. The footage may make this Wednesady
night's PPV broadcast, but that has not been determined at this time.
Mitchell took one hell of a beating Wednesday night, and I'm sure will
be feeling effects of that brutal match for weeks, and perhaps years
to come.

AJ Styles will be in action this Wednesday night as a special treat
for those of you tuning into the free TNA Pre-show. The show is
carried by nearly all systems carrying the TNA PPV, including DirecTV.
The free preview show begins at 7:30 EST every Wednesday night.

The passing of Mike Lockwood is a very sad situation, and I'm not sure
there is much more I want to say at this time.

Low Ki will be facing off against Christopher Daniels this Wednesday
night on PPV. This is an X-Division dream match in my book.

The women of TNA will be shooting a swimsuit calendar next week. Our
cameras will be rolling as well.

There will be a five team Gauntlet for the Gold this Wednesday night
to crown new number one contenders for Diamond & Swinger's NWA World
Tag Team Championships.

Look for an announcement for recent TNA PPVs to be offered via
streaming internet video very soon. This will be especially popular
with our international fans who can't get the show in their area.

The new TNA DVDs are selling very well. Check them out on the
merchandise section of NWATNA.com.

That is all for this week - we will see you back on PPV this Wednesday
night for Sting/Styles vs Jarrett/Luger.
