http://www.wrestlingobserver.com 11/2/2003 2:37:00 PM Sunday news update: Survivor Series update, Teddy Hart done with ROH after two matches, Austin, Guerrero, Former WWF star running for office, Piper & Abdullah to ROH and much more by Dave Meltzer [EMAIL PROTECTED] Bryan Alvarez and I will be back tonight for Wrestling Observer Live on the Sports Byline USA radio network from 8-10 p.m. Eastern time and 5-7 p.m. Pacific time. You can listen live through this web site, through www.dragonkingpress.com as well as www.sportsbyline.com. You can also check at the Sportsbyline.com web site for a radio station in your area carrying the show, or you can listen live or on replay every week on Ch. 122 on Sirius Satellite radio. This will be our last live show for a few weeks due to the Pride PPV on the 9th and Survivor Series on the 16th so it's the last chance to call up on those shows, the upcoming UFC show, the falling WWE, Hogan and TNA and any other topic you're interested in when it comes to pro wrestling or MMA at 1-800-878-play between those hours. The show with Bret Hart will be replayed on 11/9 for those who missed it, which got a lot of compliments as one of the best shows of the year. --Ron Simmons will be selling his injury angle until after Survivor Series so he's not going to be in the elimination match. John Cena will be turning babyface, theoretically with a mega push, for this show. I'm presuming A-Train will move to the other side so the match is Cena & Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle & Bradshaw & Bob Holly vs. Brock Lesnar & Matt Morgan & Nathan Jones & Big Show & possibly A-Train (I'm just about certain on A-Train) --Teddy Hart is done with ROH after a spectacular match last night. Hart, against orders, kept doing flips off the platform after the match when the Backseat Boyz were supposed to have the spotlight since they won. Then he threw up in the ring. It was a shoot when Tony DeVito went out because he thought he was trying to upstage and not sell the effects of the match. Hart was told what he did wrong, and it was said to have gone in one ear and out the other, and basically several of the guys in the locker room kicked him out of the dressing room and threw his bags out with him. The locker room came together on this one and there were guys who wanted to beat him up. --Steve Austin will be doing an autograph session at Borders Books & Music at the Promenade of Westlake, OH at noon today --This is something new. For the upcoming Smackdown TV taping on 11/11 in East Rutherford, NJ, the only name plugged being there in the advertising was Eddy Guerrero, talking about Latino Heat, showing clips of Guerrero in the cars and doing various things. For the 11/30 special Smackdown taping in San Jose (on a Sunday because they are going overseas to the Far East right after the show) the local ads only mention Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle. Very different from the ads revolving around the McMahon family. (thanks to Chris Najdek) --Roddy Piper is scheduled for ROH's next show in Elizabeth, NJ on 3/13 as part of its planned big show the day before Wrestlemania to get a lot of people traveling to attend. Abdullah the Butcher & Homicide face Steve Corino & Guillotine LeGrande on the 11/29 show in Wakefield, MA which is headlined by Samoa Joe vs. A.J. Styles for the ROH title. --Yesterday's St. Petersburg Times had an article saying that Brian Blair was going to announce his candidacy for Hillsborough County Commissioner in 2004. Blair was to make the official announcement yesterday afternoon (we had reported it in the Observer weeks ago) --Trish Stratus backed up Kenny Wallace (the race car driver who did all the Stacker 2 ads that aired on WWE shows some time back) at the Winston Cup race in Phoenix. Stratus was there for Stacker 2, which is Wallace's primary sponsor, which is why she isn't on the Raw shows this week. Jazz returned to wrestling action in WWE at the Raw shows. --CZW runs Viking Hall in Philadelphia on 11/15 with a double dog collar match with Nick Gage & Wifebeater vs. Messiah & Nate Hatred with Zandig as referee, plus Chris Hero vs. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Alex Shelley vs. homicide and B-Boy vs. Jimmy Rave --CCW Stairway to Hell show on Thursday night in Evansville at the Coliseum: Chris Hero b Emil Sitoci, ODB b The Vocalist, ODB b Pansy, Loco Diablo b Hyzaya, Viper & Grunge b Chase Stevens & Thrilla in a tables, hatchet and chairs match, Lonestar b Big Nasty in bullrope match, Corporal Robinson b Bart Sawyer, Necro Butcher won four-way over Dove C, Bonz and Billy Black in a 4,000 thumb tacks match, Robinson won hardcore Battle Royal (thanks to Alan Wojcik) --The movie "The Backyard" opens Friday in San Francisco at the Red Vic Moviehouse --ICW Pro Wrestling Rage in the Cage 2003 on 11/21 at the Temple Theater in Tacoma is headlined by Tim Flowers & Chico (Bryan) Alvarez vs. Randy Taylor & Vinnie V --IHW results from last night in Fort Worth: Joseph (Joey Corman) b Assassin, Fatality b Chris Richter, Mace b Larry Green, Richter b Fatality, Spoiler II b Red River Jack (which is the name Bruiser Brody used here under a mask in the 80s), Fatality b Richter --Southern Wrestling Alliance from last night in Huntsville, TN: Jason Fear b Bad Medicine, Eric Adamz b Andy Antieum, Doink the Clown b Diamond Studd, Johnny Graham b Jason Fear, Rage b Adamz, Kevin Ages b The Franchise-DQ, Graham b Doink, Rage b Ages, Rage b Graham to win tournament for vacant SWA title, Tiffany Monroe b Millie Mascaras (thanks to Paul Ledbetter) --Major shows today in Mexico are tonight at Arena Coliseo in Mexico City has Mr. Niebla vs. Universo 2000, in Coacalco has Justiciero & Niebla vs. Black Tiger & Dr. Wagner Jr., at Arena Xochimilko has Villano III vs. Dr. Muerte and in Tequisquitla has Apaches I & II & Dos Caras Sr. vs. Dandy & Negro Navarro & Mohicano. IWRG in Naucalpan has a ten man cage match with the loser getting unmasked with Black Metal, Blue Panther, Brazo de Plata Jr., Cerebro Negro, Comando Alfa, Comando Delta, Kung Fu Jr., Pentagon Black and Villano IV. At Arena Coliseo in Monterrey is a rematch from last week with Gigante Silva vs. Halloween & Damian 666. In Leon is Perro Aguayo Jr. vs. Super Parka. And the big one at Arena Solidaridad in Monterrey for AAA has Santo & Nicho (original Psicosis) vs. Blue Demon Jr. & new Psicosis (thanks to Kris Zellner) --Tennessee Mountain Wrestling from last night in Knoxville: New Grappler b DG 2000, Ric Cannon b Wicked-DQ, Deon Johnson b J.R. Stardog, Sammy V & Ric Cannon b Norton Lewis & Wicked, Dirty White Boy b Sonny Landel (they did the ether on a towel spot after the match on White Boy and put him in a hearse and drove him off. At the start of the show, Terry Landel said if he didn't put White Boy in the hearse he would jump off the Henly Street Bridge. No doubt if Jim Cornette wasn't at the ROH show and could come to Knoxville and knew all this, he'd have made the save for White Boy.
