[RETIREMENT] Nick Demola

(MotR VII results are on the bottom, if you want to skip down there and fuck
the mushy stuff)

It's been coming. For awhile now. But now it's official. After the Rising
Stars Living Legends tournament that Jake Kane's running is over, the
character of Nick Demola is done. And when the 12 Day Tournament is done,
the handler Nick Demola is done too. That'll be it.

I've pissed some people off in the past, I've flaked more in the past year
and a half than should be allowed by law. The truth is, I had turned into a
handler who was untrustworthy, and that hurt. And that's one reason I'm
leaving.

But the other is that I'm just done with it. It's been a blast, but it's
time to go.

I could write a list a mile long of guys I want to thank, but I'll try to
keep it short...

In terms of the character of Nick Demola, other characters that come to mind
when I think of people that character fueded or worked with that were
especially fun were Brian "Terminator" Perry, Jason Keening, Ken Curtis,
Brody Thunder, Stigmata, Nytro, Dynamite, Mark Marleau, Jeremy Locke,
Valtharius the Mad, Setzer Van Strife, LOCO, Brass Knux, Satanico, The
Polish Crippler, Chang Khan, Devon Case (even if it was just that one,
killer, incredible match), Chris Courtade, Rick Styles, Sabbath, and Andrew
Tucker. I probably forgot some... but whatever. You know who you are.

The reason we play this game is for the friendships we build. I still
believe that, and for as much of an ass as I could be (and have been), there
are many people here who I hope I will keep in contact with for years to
come. And if you ever want to write me, I'll always be at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Finally, I need to thank just a couple people as I take off here. Thanks go
to all:

Rich Holden - You showed me how to play this game, and have fun playing this
game.

Jake Kane - You "discovered" me, but more than that you put up with me.

Greg Roberts - You REALLY put up with me. :-) Late night convos on fantasy
booking for a Courtade/Curtis feud that really came to fruition are the
things I'll remember.

Rod Knowles - Still the only e-w guy I've ever met in real life, and as cool
as you'd guess.

Chris Buse - For bitchslapping me when I needed it.

Mark Rosendorf - Ditto.

Al, Frank, and Dave - My brothers who got in this game, and specifically to
Frank and Dave, who will carry on in the game.

Pat Calnan - For participating in every one of my wild-ass ideas, no matter
how unprepared I was for them.

Again, there are others... but I've been doing this for seven and a half
years. I don't want to bore everyone anymore than I already have.

I also want to apologize to anyone I offended in the name of "getting heat".
Christian Colde, Grant Ralton, all of you guys. You have fun doing what you
do. Don't let some old asshole ever tell you to change. And to guys like
Mike Beeby, Pete K, Wallie D... this apology's especially for Wallie. I
should've taken your advice and just left awhile ago. Sparing people from
another flake job. I wasn't always a flake. MotR I, III, IV, and V all
went off on time. And I was a decent handler once. But in the end, yeah, I
shouldn't have tried for that last "Big Angle". I've finally learned,
Wallie, and I honestly and sincerely apologize to anyone who's gotten fucked
with because of my selfish confusion.

I just want to say thanks to everyone on this board. You guys made this
fun. I wish I could stick around, but as anyone who has tried to work with
me in the past year and a half will tell you... all I've done is make things
a mess. I should've posted this back then, but I tried to hang on. The
reality is that things change, people move on, and it's time to go.

There will be no comeback. This is not an angle. There is no "going away
tour". This is just the end.

MOTR VII RESULTS
Let's go here... Victor Frost beat Ace of Hearts in the finals of MotR VII.
Ace beat Max Pain in the semis, Frost beat Terry Boston in the other semi.
November wins Pentagon Pain. I will finish the card, I have the outline.
It'll take some time, some rewriting, but the next post you see from me will
be of that card. And that'll be my last post on the board.

Thanks,
Nick
