You want to talk about bad deals? I've followed the Colorado Rockies for some time and they're stuck with Neagle for the duration of his contract now. He couldn't stay healthy and now nobody is going to touch him and his big, fat contract. I say Neagle was a worse signing than Hampton given Neagle's history of injuries. Right now, the Rockies just have to hope they can eventually move Walker and Wilson to other teams (not likely this offseason, but they may be able to move them this coming season when teams start looking for help down the stretch) then wait until they get to the buyout option for Neagle and just take it. Helton isn't likely to get moved, though, given his contract. But the Rockies can probably manage with that deal once they move Walker and Wilson and can get Neagle off the books. I actually don't mind Charles Johnson as much because the Rockies needed a good defensive catcher and he provides that. I just hope the Rockies can move contract in time for when they have to re-sign the young pitchers they've been developing (something they should have done all along instead of wasting money on Hampton, Neagle and others). Bob Morris Wouldn't mind seeing the Rockies bring back Eric Young and Vinny Castilla for the infield, since both will come cheap and probably wouldn't mind returning to the Rockies.
