The way McKay explained it, they tried to work it out without fines and suspensions and whatnot because they didn't want it to be a running feud. Sounds plausible to me. They cut their losses. Good for them. McCardell's the go-to guy on that team, anyway, and now that Jurevicius (sic?) is back, they don't need Keyshawn antyway. > > Personally, I'm glad somebody finally had the sack to do something > > like this. > > Figured you'd like the decision :) Oh yeah, I do. :) > > Will it hurt Keyshawn's career? You're a smart guy, Buse, so get your head out of your ass. The "system" did not find that Lewis had no direct link, he cut a plea deal to get out from under the charges and turned on his friends, the same friends that tried to protect him. He lied throughout that entire investigation, and it was only when a lawyer was able to get him a chance him to plead guilty to a misdemeanor that he started telling the truth. Was I there? No. But somebody once told me that rarely does an innocent man lie, so as far as I'm concerned, he's a murderer. > But it's about time somebody stood up and said > > "we're not gonna put up with your bullshit anymore" to one of these > > spoiled, loud-mouthed, overrated jackasses (and don't tell me about > > all the "intangibles" Keyshawn had, 'cause that's what people say > > about overrated jackasses when they don't have the numbers to back up > > their bullshit). > > 2 years ago he lead the NFL in receptions. I'd say that he's probably not overrated Greg...then > again, you have a firm opinion over Keyshawn, no need for me to > attempt to alter that ;) Yes, it would be a futile effort, 'cause you're just plain wrong. He just doesn't have the numbers to back up his claims of greatness. He said last year that if they threw to him 20 times per game, he'd have bigger numbers. No shit, Keyshawn. The fact of the matter is, he's a good little receiver... but look out that window. *inside joke* There's any number of good little receivers in the league that will come play for you and give you *far* less trouble than Keyshawn. Hell, Joey Galloway's got higher yds/rec (15.2/13.2) and td/g (.42/.40) than Keyshawn, and is just a tad lower in yds/g (58/66). For a guy that's supposed to be one of the elites, that's pretty piss-poor. > I applaud Gruden for finally saying enough is enough. > > > > Now, if they'd just deactivate Sapp. > > > > Greg > > Ahh, the Greg hates Sapp debate. He wants to win, > that's what a player with heart does. That's why I've never understood > why you hate Sapp, but oh well :) Nothing to hurt his team? In a contract year, Warren Sapp is 11th on his team in tackles and the "QB Killa" has a whopping 5 sacks. And in their 6 losses this year? A tremendous 17 tackles and 0 sacks. Stupid penalties (like the roughing call that put Indy at mid-field and led to a TD in their comeback win over TB), off-the-field idiocy, you get it all with Sapp. And as far as his heart, he told you all you need to know about his motivation in that softball interview he did when CBS tried to make a fucking martyr out of him. His team was losing, his performance was off, and he'd just had several run-ins with the NFL brass and what does he make an issue out of? The fact that nobody can see his face when he plays, oh and how much of a "slave" he is. And as far as "sole franchise player", he's not even the best player on that defense. Simeon Rice and Derrick Brooks say hello. Sapp is an overrated, selfish jerk and the media loves him. *That* is why I hate Warren Sapp. Greg
