Converse Black Patent-Leather Shoes

I am interested in obtaining a pair of Converse Black Patent-leathe shoes for
the upcoming basketball season.  Two questions:

1) for those who already have them, how comfortable are they and how durable
are they?

2) Where can I find a pair? I've been to the local athletic shoe stores and
they never heard of them. I see an ad in one of the NFHS books but I hate to
buy shoes without trying them on.
