But 10-2-2 specifically says that you CANNOT give another technical foul to a team member that has been disqualified. For those who don't have the rulebook handy, here is the exact text. Art. 2. When a player, member of bench personnel or coach has been ejected for having incurred the maximum number of technical fouls, no additional technical fouls shall be assessed. I don't see how that can be any less clear. > You can't just allow him to continue to behave badly > just because he has two technicals. If you give him a third technical > foul, this is charged also as an bench direct technical to the > replacement head coach, whomever that is (10-10-6). > No, this may not be charged as ANYTHING. Your only choices after giving 2 Technical fouls are forfeiture or ignore it. > Of course, you may choose forfeiture as an alternative to a third > technical, my feeling is that the third technical is the lesser of two > evils. If making up your own rules that specifically go against the rulebook is the lesser of two evils, then I think you've got your priorities wrong. Dealing with the situation is very simple -- tell the assistant coach that if he doesn't get the coach out of there immediately the game is a forfeit. It's amazing how quickly he'll be out the door. It works even in intramurals. -Jeff
