I never said there was anything in the rules about a lateral, forward or backward. Someone else mentioned it and I replied. A lot of people believe that it is against the rules, to use an underhanded pass for a forward pass, even though it is perfectly legal. I would have dropped it weeks ago, except for one thing. Several people have called me names for making a point. No one has proven my point wrong. Sure you can say that technically defer is "an option to the winner" but as I said in my original response, that got this whole thing started.
