I never said there was anything in the rules about a lateral, forward or
backward. Someone else mentioned it and I replied. A lot of people
believe that it is against the rules, to use an underhanded pass for a
forward pass, even though it is perfectly legal. At least once year we
all hear someone, usually a fan, shouting about a forward lateral, and
how stupid, blind, unethical, ect. we are for not calling it.

I would have dropped it weeks ago, except for one thing. Several people
have called me names for making a point. No one has proven my point
wrong. Sure you can say that technically defer is "an option to the
winner" but as I said in my original response, that got this whole thing
started. Defer is not an option according to fed rule 3-2-3.
