I always ask the head coach during our pre-game chat what he wants to do if his
team wins the toss.  Then, when asking the winning captain for his choice (aka
"option"), I present the coach's choice to him first, *with emphasis*.

PS:  I also tell the head coach that if he changes his mind, to let me know
prior to the toss.
