Knee hurts to bend, and to run

Hi all:

I first noticed this discomfort while sitting on the floor with my
legs crossed (indian style). In fact, I couldn't do it. At the time,
the pain was in both knees. This was about 30-60 days ago. It has
never gone away in my left knee. It paritcularly hurts on the lower,
inside portion of the knee. Also, I can apply pressure with my
fingers to reproduce the discomfort. I tried running a few weeks ago,
and after 60 or 90 seconds at a slow pace, I had to stop because it
hurt to much.

I have tried to really stretch my hamstrings and apply ice/IBUprofen,
but that didn't seem to help any, and lately I have started to do some
leg extensions, and haven't noticed any change as well.

Does anyone have any ideas suggestions? We are in the middle of
switching Insur. cos., so I can't go and see anyone about this at the
time, but I really do miss running, and am hopeful that one of you
have something for me to go on.

For what it is worth, I am 39, have ran 6 marathons (not anymore), and
run less than 20 miles/week. For the last 3 years, have prob.
avgeraged about 10 a week.

Thanks in advance, Curt
