WAVERAIDER HULL DIFFERENT?

I just aquired a 700 Waveraider 1995. It is different than my buddies
1100Raider in that his hull is smc and mine is fiberglass. I read somewhere
that this boat is supposed to weigh only 288 lbs. This seems extremely light
to me. Anyone got any info?
