cold weather teams/warm weather teams

I always hear people talking about pro teams and saying ,"this cold
weather team will have trouble in warm weather" or more likely "this
warm weather team will have trouble in cold weather". I don't
understand this.

I can see in college where this would have an effect. I mean say a
team is in South Carolina and has to play Wisconsin in the snow. Most
of the SC players are from SC and have probably never played in such
conditions but when you get to the pro level you have players from all
over the country on a team. It's possible that a Miami Dolphin team
could end up with half it's player from cold weather states and a team
like Green Bay with only a few who grew up playing in the snow.
