I do not know if UC is an automatic first down in NCAA rules, but it struck me as odd that the down was announced as 2nd. I just assumed that all 15 yard defensive penalties were automatic first downs. Maybe there is a difference between it being a dead ball foul and live action foul? You seem to have a rule book handy most of the time. Maybe you can find the rule to determine if this was yet another screw up by the refs or a perfect addition to the "Football Rules Myths" page. bp "It's much better to go 7-3 than 9-1. When you go 7-3, the fans talk about the games you won. When you go 9-1, they talk about the game you lost." Doug Dickey (Evidently Ron Zook's Spritual Mentor)
